Changelog

All notable changes to Replica are documented in this file.

v1.3.0 — June 2026

New Features

  • COLMAP export — Export cameras, poses and a sparse point cloud in COLMAP format (cameras.txt, images.txt, points3D.txt), together with the photos rectified to a pure PINHOLE model. Because the images are already lens-undistorted, the package drops straight into 3D Gaussian Splatting, NeRF/Nerfstudio, and other reconstruction tools with no manual undistortion step. See COLMAP Export for details.
  • USD for VFX — A new export bundle (model.usda + mesh.usdz + undistorted plates) built for camera projection and matchmove in Blender, Maya, Houdini and Nuke. Free and Lite export a 2-camera preview; Pro exports every camera in the project. See USD for VFX for details.
  • Camera pose photo overlay — The 3D viewer can now project the original, undistorted photo onto its camera pose as an image plane, with adjustable opacity and click-to-fly navigation to jump straight to any camera.
  • Measure & Scale (Pro) — A new Refine operation that lets you scale and level your 3D model using real-world distance measurements. Supports multiple measurement pairs with a best-fit (least-squares) scale, an optional vertical reference for automatic levelling, and grounding the model to Y = 0. Useful for indoor captures and any dataset where GPS is unavailable. See Refine Operations for the full workflow.
  • Recent projects — Replica now keeps track of the projects you have recently opened, so you can resume your work in one click without browsing through folders.

Improvements

  • Configuration Presets visible on Free and Lite — The preset picker in the Session Configuration panel is now visible on all Replica editions, so Free and Lite users can pick the same recommended starting points as Pro. Saving and deleting custom presets remains a Pro-only feature.
  • Smoother 3D viewer rotation after zoom — The viewer no longer accumulates an unwanted rotation when you zoom in or out: navigation stays predictable across long inspection sessions.
  • Refine delete now resets the model — Clicking Delete on any Refine operation now removes the operation, restores the 3D viewer to the original pre-refine state, and clears the applied state of all other Refine operations. Viewer and export stay consistent.
  • Camera pose click works correctly after Refine — Previously, clicking a camera pose after applying a Refine operation would send the view to the wrong position. The view now lands exactly at the clicked camera's world transform regardless of any Refine applied.
  • Per-point marker delete in Measure & Scale — Each placed marker (Point A, Point B, Ground, Top) can be individually removed with a small x button next to it, without deleting the whole measurement pair.
  • Active Refine operation resets when switching project — The orange vertical reference arrow and any pending marker placement no longer persist across project switches.

v1.2.0 — April 4, 2026

New Features

  • Replica Link (Beta) — Process photogrammetry remotely by uploading a dataset to a companion server and tracking progress from the desktop app. This release adds project management on top of the initial beta: rename and delete remote projects, download the original photos as a ZIP, and automatic discovery of existing projects when the server starts. The 3D model view now refreshes dynamically as remote processing completes. See Replica Link and Replica Link API for details.
  • STL export on all editions — STL is now available as an export format in manual export, Workflow export, and Replica Link, across Free, Lite and Pro.

v1.1.0 — February 27, 2026

Improvements

  • Smoother 3D viewer — The 3D viewer performance has been optimized for a smoother navigation experience.
  • Zoom adapts to model size — The zoom level now automatically adjusts based on the size of the loaded model.
  • Default folder in manual export — In manual export, the default destination folder is now the same as the dataset folder.
  • Drag & drop import support — Files and folders can now be dragged and dropped directly into the dataset folder, in addition to the + button.
  • Automatic selection of imported folder — When a folder is imported, it is now automatically selected in the list.

Fixes

  • Dataset deletion confirmation — A confirmation dialog has been added before deleting a dataset, to prevent accidental removals.
  • Computation deletion button in sidebar — Fixed an issue with the computation deletion button in the sidebar not working correctly.

v1.0.0 — February 16, 2026
